This theatre, inaugurated in 2007, is the work of the architects José Mª Torres Nadal and Antonio Marquerie. It is one of the most original, unique and emblematic buildings in the city. It is 25 metres high and consists of a central body, which contains a hall for 767 people, and which extends through a semicircular arm that envelops it.
It is a landmark work of new architecture, as it was selected to be exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art in New York (MOMA) as one of the best avant-garde Spanish architectural projects.
The architectural peculiarities of the building offer an innovative profile and also integrate the space between the city and the auditorium; an added value is the agora area, which is very dynamic on a daily basis and hosts open-air shows and projections.
The local cultural agenda especially accentuates the offer of events programmed in this facility throughout the year. Great national and international artists have performed on its stage, showing its audience a variety of performing arts disciplines.
Due to the building's location near the TRAM stop, its accessibility from the AP-7 motorway and the nearby car park, the venue is a point of reference in the whole province and a priority option for cultural leisure alternatives.
